Diversified roster

I love it when I go to a racetrack and leave feeling positive and upbeat. I went to one event last weekend and watched another, and after each one I felt better about our sport.

Watching the rescheduled Jackson 100 at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway via DirtonDirt.com’s pay-per-view coverage Sunday reminded me of those Sunday afternoon shows in the spring and fall I attended Atomic and Volunteer speedways here in Tennessee years ago. That Eldora experience

Eldora Speedway is a lot of things to a lot of people. Regardless of how many trips you’ve made to the famed half-mile oval in Rossburg, Ohio, you undoubtedly remember the first one. It’s crazy how we remember such pivotal moments in life.

For me, I can tell you exactly what I was driving each of my previous 11 trips to Eldora. That makes it pretty special, because there aren’t many times I unequivocally remember which of the many vehicles I’ve owned that I was driving on a certain day. MORE
