Cade Dillard during Saturday's preliminary action at Batesville.
What won the race: Getting redemption after suffering a flat right-rear tire while leading the previous night at Batesville Motor Speedway, second-starting Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., fired off from the outside front row and led all 30 laps of Saturday's Ed Rinehart Memorial. Dillard led all the way unchallenged and beat polesitter Scott Crigler by 3.349 seconds for the $5,000 payday, his seventh Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory of the season and 14th of his career.
Quotable: "I definitely didn’t want to see any cautions there and then on a restart, we’d run it (hard) a lap or two and just had such a good car. As soon as (crewman) Donnie (Pederson) showed me a little bit of a lead, I immediately backed off," Dillard said. "Whereabouts five or six (laps) to go, he had his hands pretty far open, so I just kinda backed off the lapped car I was at and just tried to make sure we had something left there at the end."
Key notes: Dillard led a total of 52 laps across the Batesville doubleheader weekend; he rallied to finish fourth in Friday's opener after leading the opening 22 circuits until a flat right-rear tire sent him pitside. ... Dillard's first career Batesville victory lifted him to nine feature wins so far this season. ... Polesitter Scott Crigler regained the runner-up spot from Morgan Bagley after Bagley briefly took second on a lap-10 restart; Bagley settled for third. ... Hall of Famer Billy Moyer, winner of Friday's $5,000 opener, took fourth from his son on the lap-10 restart then fought off Kyle Beard's challenges, leaving Beard in fifth. ... Timothy Culp climbed 13 spots and finished 12th after tagging the field when he failed to finish the night's first heat race. ... Tyler Kuykendall scratched from the second heat then gained 10 positions to place 13th. ... The two-day event honored Ed Rinehart, a Houston, Texas-area businessman and owner of Rinehart Trucking, a longtime sponsor of dirt racing teams, tracks and series; he died on Sept. 21, 2024, at the age of 80. ... Saturday's 30-lap finale was slowed once for Brandon Smith's flat right-rear tire on the 10th lap and lasted 11 minutes, with 17 starters completing the distance.
On the move: Kylan Garner of Neosho, Mo., started 11th and finished eighth.
