The end of an era?

As a kid growing up in eastern Ohio, I can vividly remember running to the mailbox after school on Friday afternoons to get the mail. Why? The elusive double

Back when I was a kid, I remember reading the columns of race chasers such as Guy Smith, Gordy Killian, and Rich Berry talking about how they would take in two different racetracks in one night. As a youth, I was fascinated at the thought of a “double” and, as an adult, I’m still fascinated by it.
