What won the race: Polesitter Andrew Kosiski of Omaha, Neb., rolled to a $4,000 Malvern Bank Series victory Saturday at I-80 Speedway on the second day of the track's Spring Meltdown weekend. He took the checkers 1.760 seconds ahead of runner-up Josh Leonard to record his second career Malvern Bank Series triumph.
Quotable: "I got lucky with the draw, but I still think we had a really fast race car," Kosiski said. "I knew we were a little off Friday night and I thought I knew what it needed, and it really came to life there."
Key notes: Kosiski was never seriously challenged in racing to the checkered flag at the track promoted by his father Joe. ... Saturday's event wrapped up the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Spring Meltdown weekend at 1-80 Speedway. ... The track hosted twin features on Friday with Tad Pospisil and Bill Leighton Jr., each grabbing $1,500 victories.
