What won the race: Working his way back by fast qualifier Nick Dohm and regaining the lead for good on lap 21, polesitter Derek Rogers of Spelter, W.Va., led the rest of Saturday's 41st annual Harvest 50 for a $5,000 payday and the biggest Late Model victory of his career. Rogers, who borrowed a used right-rear tire for the feature, led twice for 32 laps (1-2, 21-50) and beat Chris Carpenter by 0.466 of a second for his first Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series triumph and first win of any kind in more than four years.

Key notes: Rogers collected a total of $6,530 including a $1,530 bonus offered by Hall of Fame driver Steve Shaver and Berkshire Hathaway Home Services for the leader of the 30th lap. ... Rogers earned his first feature win since July 9, 2022, and biggest payday since June 18, 2022 ($2,500), both coming in local Super Late Model action at Skyline. ... He became the eighth first-time winner in Iron-Man Series action this season. ... Second-starting Nick Dohm led laps 3-20 until yielding control back to Rogers then slipping as low as fourth on lap 39 before finishing third. ... Tenth-starting Colten Burdette, winner of Friday's $1,600 unsanctioned Harvest prelim, briefly surged into second after a lap-33 restart and held the runner-up spot until Chris Carpenter used a fourth-to-second move on lap 39, with Dohm taking third a couple laps later, dropping Burdette to fourth. ... The eighth-starting Carpenter cut two seconds off Rogers's lead over the final six laps, but didn't have enough to take the top spot. ... Rusty Schlenk improved five positions to place seventh. ... The Harvest 50 feature was slowed five times, most notably on lap 24 when 10th-running Rod Conley and 12th-running Michael Davis were forced to pit; Conley continued to finish 14th while Davis retired after the next caution fell a couple laps later for sixth-running Freddie Carpenter, who could not continue and was credited with 21st. ... Corey Conley was eliminated in the race's fourth stoppage on lap 33 before another yellow flag flew on the ensuing restart attempt. ...
