What won the race: Overtaking Dallon Murty on the 18th lap, Nick Hoffman took command Saturday at I-55 Federated Raceway Park in Pevely, Mo., and completed a World of Outlaws Late Model Series sweep during the King of the Arch weekend. Adding $20,000 to Friday's $12,000 payday, Hoffman fought off a late challenge from polesitter Jason Feger amid traffic, winning by 1.491 of a second.

Quotable: "I seen (Feger) peeking down there and I knew I had to get back in line just to defend, so I had to turn left down the front straightaway and block," Hoffman said. "I was really happy that (Rickey) Frankel turned (Logan Zarin) around (to draw a caution) because I wanted to get reracked there because I just felt like I was in trouble if (Feger) could have got the middle rolling. It just worked out for me."

Key notes: Hoffman, who grew up just across the Mississippi River in Belleville, Ill., notched his eighth WoO victory of the season and 19th of his career. ... Friday's victory was his first-ever in the Late Model division at I-55. ... Runner-up Jason Feger, who led the first three laps, cut Hoffman's lead to virtually nothing late amid traffic, but a caution gave Hoffman clear track and he pulled away late. ... Outside front-row starter Dallon Murty led laps 4-17 and finished fourth. ... Drake Troutman, winner of last year's WoO finale at I-55, improved seven positions to finish third in a car with a tattered right-rear corner. ... Four cautions slowed the race, the first on the 24th lap when 13th-starting Bobby Pierce spun in turn three and nosed into the wall while battling Trey Mills and Michael Leach for a top-five spot (another yellow appeared on the ensuing restart for a lineup issue). ... On the 29th lap, Shannon Babb slowed with a flat right-rear tire. ... The final yellow appeared on the 53rd lap when Logan Zarin spun in turn four in front of the leaders. ... The 24-minute feature concluded at 9:57 p.m. ... WoO was running its 15th event at the high-banked third-mile oval. ... I-55 promoter Josh Carroll posted on Facebook that he departed the track Saturday in an ambulance to seek treatment for recent cardiac issues, saying he didn't take it easy enough on the busy weekend after advice from his cardiologist.

On the move: Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., started 13th and finished fifth; Drake Troutman of Hyndman, Pa., started 10th and finished third.
