What won the race: Powering around polesitter Darrell Lanigan out of turn four on the opening lap, fourth-starting Carson Ferguson of Lincolnton, N.C., commanded all 40 circuits of Saturday's 16th annual Bill Hendren Memorial at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for a $10,000 payday on the RUSH Crate Late Model Series. Ferguson beat Mason Zeigler by 3.940 seconds for his second career RUSH Crate victory, both coming at PPMS.
Key notes: Lucas Oil Series regular Carson Ferguson led by as much as 4.230 seconds until a lap-23 caution erased his lead before stretching his advantage to nearly four seconds over the final 18 circuits. ... It's his second feature win of the season, adding to a July 25 Slingin' Dirt Late Model Series victory at Florence Speedway in Union, Ky. ... Ferguson notched his second career RUSH Crate tour triumph, both coming in PPMS's Bill Hendren Memorial event after capturing last year's $4,000 prelim also aboard a Cameron Tribble-owned Longhorn entry. ...
