Devin Moran celebrates his first-ever Pittsburgher victory.
What won the race: Blistering Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway from start-to-finish, Devin Moran of Dresden, Ohio, romped to a blowout victory in Saturday night’s 38th Pittsburgher finale. The 32-year-old defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion was never challenged during the 70-lap feature en route to claiming a $55,000 top prize by a massive 7.502 seconds over Tim McCreadie.
Key notes: A winner of Pittsburgher preliminaries in each of the last two years, Moran captured the event’s finale for the first time in his eighth career start in the feature. His father Donnie is a three-time winner of the race. … Moran, who ran a brand-down Longhorn Chassis, had his first-place take increased by a $5,000 bonus from Sunoco Race Fuels. … It was Moran's seventh Lucas Oil Series win of 2026 win of 2026 and the 29th of his career. His last triumph was a $50,000 score in June 27's Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. ... The eighth-starting McCreadie overtook Nick Hoffman for second on a lap-34 restart but never threatened Moran over the remaining distance. … Hoffman settled for a third-place finish in his first-ever start at PPMS. … Polesitter Ricky Thornton Jr. fell as far back as seventh midway through the race but finished fifth after a lap-69 pass of Michael Norris. … Lucas Oil Series points leader Brandon Sheppard went a lap down to Moran on lap 22, but the Lucky Dog award put him back on the lead during a lap-39 caution and he rallied to finish sixth. He actually extended his points to 40 points over Hudson O’Neal, who finished 10th, but Moran closed to within 65 points with three races remaining. … Two caution flags slowed the feature. … Josh Rice triggered the first slowdown on lap 34 due to a flat right-rear tire. … Chris Madden slowed on lap 39 with rearend trouble. … Jonathan Davenport was a non-qualifier in his bid for a third straight Pittsburgher victory. His car sustained heavy nose damage at the start of the first heat when he hit the rear of Drake Troutman’s car as the Pennsylvania driver slid in front of him in turn two; after switching to a backup car, Davenport missed transferring by three spots in the first B-main. … Clay Harris scratched from time trials because of battery issues and used a provisional to start the feature. … Originally scheduled as a weekend doubleheader, the event became a single-day affair after Friday’s $10,000-to-win opener rained out.
On the move: Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., started 22nd and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Moran's Double Down Motorsports Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Big River Steel, C&W Trucking, Millwood Plumbing, Phillips CPA Firm, Red Oak Pub, Smoky Mountain Speedway, McHugh Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Anthony's Pizza, Pee Wee's Wrecker Service, Bomag Fayat Group, Advantage Lawn Equipment, Hazen Services, Storage King, Haulin' Haskells, IBS Machine, Elliott Farms, DirtCarLift, Carsource Auto, Lucas Oil, Muskingum County Speedway, ReFuel Wellness, Eddie's Sunoco, More Motorsports and Ohio Natural Energy.
