MIDDLEBOURNE, W.Va. (Sept. 2) – Mike Pegher Jr. of Wexford, Pa., moved by Joe Martin of Mayport, Pa., with two laps remaining in Friday night’s Fastrak Racing Series event at Tyler County Speedway on his way to a $3,000 victory in an event that was sanctioned by Fastrak’s Northeast and Mid-Ohio Valley regional tours.
"We really like this place," said Pegher, 25, who became the first driver to score multiple Fastrak victories at Tyler County this year. "We'd be here more if it wasn't for being a three-hour tow. This means a lot to win this race. I was watching for Joe (Martin) on the restart and the inside worked good for me."
Martin settled for the runner-up finish in the event, which helped to kick off Tyler County’s Black Diamond 125 weekend. Points leader Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., finished third while Dan Angelicchio of Greensburg, Pa., was fourth with Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., fifth.
Jared Hawkins of Fairmont, W.Va., won the night’s Super Late Model feature, a UFO Race Championship event that paid $8,000-to-winner.
