EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. (June 18) – Mike Pegher Jr. of Wexford, Pa., picked up a $1,200 Fastrak Northeast Late Model Touring Series victory Saturday night when the Crate Late Model tour visited McKean County Raceway for the first of four sanctioned events at the track this season.

The pole-starting Pegher outdueled hometown driver Steve Dixon to pick up first victory at McKean in the Jason Dunham Memorial. Dixon settled for the runner-up finish while points leader Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., finished third. Butch Lambert of Mars, Pa., finished fourth for his first top five of the season and 11th-starting Dan Angelicchio Greensburg, Pa., of rounded out the top five finishers.

"We really like coming here, but we always struggle for some reason or another," Pegher, 25, said after his victory. "It helps to start up front, but Steve (Dixon) is always good here. This will definitely help us in the points. This is a real honor winning this race, and I have to thank everyone that helps me on the car and all my sponsors for making this possible."

The victory is Pegher’s 10th on the fourth-year series, moving him within one of Blair's series-leading 11 victories. It is also his second victory of the season and puts him within eight points of Blair's points lead.
