Buckingham collects $3,000 for Wythe victory
RURAL RETREAT, Va. (July 24) — Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Tenn., earned $3,000 Saturday in a Fastrak Southeast event at Wythe Raceway. Buckingham beat hometown driver Brandon Umberberger to the checkered flag.
Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., was third followed by Jensen Ford of Piney Flats, Tenn., and David Smith of Inman, S.C., whose fifth-place finish gave him Fastrak’s Virginia State Championship. Blake Bentley, who won the previous night’s race at Rolling Thunder Raceway in Ararat, Va., was 20th.
