Stevens earns $2,000 for NDRA victory at Friendship
ELKIN, N.C. (July 3) — Robbie Stevens of Madison, N.C., led every lap at Friendship Motor Speedway for an NDRA Road Show victory worth $2,000.
Ron Parker finished second in the Crate Late Model special and took over the series points lead with his second straight runner-up finish. Brian Umberger, Dan Breuer and G.R. Smith rounded out the top five in a race slowed five times by caution.
Notes: Doug Sanders, Matt Long and Chris Knight tangled in turn four on the second lap. ... A five-car pileup in turn four on the lap-two restart eliminated Matt Long. ... Chris Knight spun in turn two on the third lap. ... Ryan Atkins and Jimmy Watson were knocked out by a lap-nine wreck in turn four; Atkins was driving a No. 16 car after damaging his regular ride the night before at Carolina Speedway ... West Virginia driver Chris Meadows made his first 2010 appearance in a Crate Late Model, finishing 16th.
