Bray's demise lifts Haley to Grand Nationals win
LAVONIA, Ga. (Oct. 3) — Inheriting the lead when Royce Bray lost a driveshaft on the 30th lap, hometown driver Brandon "Cornbread" Haley led the rest of the 50-lapper at Lavonia Speedway en route to victory in the first round of the Fastrak Grand Nationals.
Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Tenn., was second followed by Ron Parker, Blake Bentley and Matt Long in the Southeast Region event. Bray, who finished 21st, congratulated Haley in victory lane.

Southeast Region drivers join other Fastrak regional drivers for the next round of the Grand Nationals on Oct. 21-22 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. After the Oct. 23-24 third round at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., the overall Fastrak champion will pick up $30,000 ... Haley should be among four Fastrak drivers heading to Volunteer with the maximum 35 points in Grand Nationals standings. ... Fifteen of 24 starters were running at the finish at Lavonia.
