What won the race: Outracing Spencer Hughes on a second attempt to start the race, Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., survived a lap-21 restart bobble for a flag-to-flag victory in Friday's 25-lap Comp Cams Super Dirt Series debut at Pike County Speedway. Dillard survived a rash of restarts to beat Hall of Famer Billy Moyer by 1.735 seconds for the $5,000 prelim victory, his 18th career Comp Cams triumph, 11th of the season and third consecutive.

Quotable: "Tried to get in there a little more aggressive than I have before just to make sure nobody tried to slide me or nothing (on a lap-21 restart) and I just messed up. Luckily, I was able to keep it off the wall there, that was a close one," Dillard said. "After that, I just tried to backup turn one (entrance) and float up to (the wall). It definitely wasn’t as fast, but felt like we could make up a ton of speed (in turn three) on the top. We had an awesome race car right there."

Key notes: After taking control from Spencer Hughes on the second attempt of the race's opening start, Dillard led largely unchallenged until nearly hitting the turn-two wall on a lap-21 restart, allowing Billy Moyer and Timothy Culp to close in. Culp and Moyer made contact, with Moyer nearly spinning into the backstretch infield, before Culp slowed down the frontstretch and retired; he was credited with 18th. ...
