Bryan Mullis captured his second Lancaster victory of the season.
What won the race: Overtaking Travis Steele on lap 15, second-starting Bryan Mullis of Rock Hill, S.C., led the rest of Saturday's rain-postponed ninth annual Phillip Knight Memorial at Lancaster Motor Speedway. Mullis led the final 26 circuits and beat apparent runner-up finisher Dalton Hodge by 1.662 seconds for the $5,509 payday, his second Cagle Automotive Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model Series victory this season at Lancaster.
Key notes: Mullis's victory gives him the season sweep in Blue Ridge competition at Lancaster, adding to his $3,500 victory there on April 18. ... Mullis now has three career Blue Ridge victories at Lancaster, including a $3,333 payday on April 19, 2025. ... Sixth-starting Dalton Hodge, who followed Mullis by Travis Steele with a fourth-to-second move on lap 15, was disqualified from the runner-up spot in postrace technical inspection and moved to 15th in the final rundown. ... Steele, who led the opening 14 laps from the pole, pitted from third under the race's second caution on a lap-36 restart attempt and restarted ninth before charging back to fifth; he was ultimately credited with fourth after Hodge's DQ. ... Points leader Braden Jones prevailed after a back-and-forth battle with Anthony Sanders and inherited the runner-up finish. ... Terry Caples slowed from seventh and retired for the race's initial lap-36 caution. ... The event honored Phillip Knight, one of the Lancaster’s most passionate fans who spent most Saturday nights at the half-mile oval. ... Matt Long, who was scheduled to start fifth after July 31's prelims, opted not to return for the Aug. 22 reschedule date and scratched. ... The rain-postponed feature lasted 30 minutes with nine starters completing 40 laps.
