What won the race: Fifth-starting Tyler Erb of New Waverly, Texas, slid past race-long leader B.J. Robinson of Shreveport, La., with two laps remaining and went on to score his first SUPR victory of the season. Erb collected $3,000.
Quotable: “I know B.J. (Robinson) wasn’t happy with the slide job for the lead, but it was just racing,” said Erb, who skipped his senior prom to compete.
Key notes: Erb scored his second career series win with the previous coming Aug. 30, 2014, at the Kilgore oval. ... The polesitting Robinson jumped to the lead at the drop of the green. ... The race's first caution came on the first lap. ... Second-running Jon Mitchell was nearly collected in a three-car incident on lap 8. ... Danny Zimmerman and Robert Metz tangled on lap 10. ... Action halted again on lap 21. ... Erb bobbled while battling Robinson for the lead on lap 33, checking up Mitchell and Ray Moore behind him. Moore retired with a yellow flag after suffering right-front and nose damage. ... New dirt has been added to the Lone Star surface for 2015 and the track is 15 feet wider in the corners than last season. ... The race was moved to Saturday from Sunday after Boothill Speedway pulled the plug on its scheduled SUPR event because of saturated grounds. ... Lone Star held the first of its four scheduled SUPR events, all on holiday weekends; other races are scheduled for July 4, Sept. 5 and Nov. 28.
On the move: Al Boytis of Mexia, Texas, started 20th and finished 11th.
Winner's sponsors: Erb's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by FastlaneWraps.com, First Class Septic, J.D.'s Body Works, J&J Motorsports and Team 5 Enterprises.
