Key notes: Rain hit the track about 8:30 p.m. and the program was rained out before the start of main events. ... The MARS Championship Series was set to conclude its doubleheader weekend with Saturday’s 40-lap, $5,000-to-win Charleston Challenge. … It was the second-ever MARS Series visit to Charleston Speedway after points leader Ryan Unzicker won $5,000 on May 20, 2023. … Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., led all but six laps of Friday’s weekend opener at nearby Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway in the 16th annual Jr. Kimler Memorial. He also won $2,000 at Charleston in July of 2009 on the now-defunct Monster Midwest Series.
