Michael Page celebrates his fifth Southern All Stars victory at Senoia.
What won the race: Retaking control when Shane Clanton slowed with a flat left-rear tire on the 32nd lap, second-starting Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga., led the rest of Saturday's 50-lap Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series feature at Senoia Raceway. Page led the final 19 laps largely unchallenged, winning by 0.253 of a second over Todd Morrow for the $7,500 payday, his third overall feature win of the season and ninth career SAS triumph.
Quotable: “I felt (Todd Morrow) and seen him a couple times, but I just couldn’t come off the top (line). I couldn’t get through the holes on the top,” Page said. “(Shane) Clanton could go through there and he was, by far, the best car. I just could not hold on through that (rough surface), I mean, I don’t race enough to race like that. I tell you what, that’s hard, I’m telling you.”
Key notes: Page led twice for 26 laps (1-7, 32-50) for his third win this year, adding to early-season victories on the Crate Racin' USA Winter Shootout Series. ... Page scored his 13th career Senoia special since 2016 and first since 2024's Roscoe Smith Classic, worth $7,544 on the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals. ... Five of Page's nine career SAS wins have come at Senoia, the last one was May 21, 2022's Smith Classic, worth $5,044. ... It was his first Super Late Model victory of any kind since last fall's Gobbler at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn., also worth $7,500. ... Shane Clanton, winner of the previous night's $5,121 weekend opener at nearby Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway, led 24 laps (8-31) and enjoyed a lead of nearly 11 seconds when he made contact as he attempted to lap sixth-running Matt Dooley, cutting his left-rear tire; Clanton maintained control as he slowed, but opted to take his car straight to the trailer and was credited with 15th. ... Dooley continued to finish fifth as the final starter to complete 50 laps. ... Sixth-starting Todd Morrow surged into second with a handful of laps left, but didn't have anything for Page in the late going. ... Jeremy Steele inherited second on the lap-32 restart but faded to fourth over the final five laps. ... Polesitter Payton Stevenson faded to ninth before retiring on the 21st lap. ... Wil Herrington, who borrowed a Crate engine-powered entry after losing an engine in his self-owned No. 14 Rocket, advanced as high as seventh until retiring after tangling with Allen Styck and spinning on lap 33. ... Besides the cautions for Clanton and Herrington, the race was slowed by four other incidents, the first coming for a Garrett Williams solo-spin on lap five. ... Will Hicks and Chad Duncan tangled on a lap-32 restart attempt before Herrington's spin. ... Points leader Tucker Anderson slowed with a flat tire on a lap-33 restart attempt but continued to complete the top 10. ... The feature lasted nearly 38 minutes with 14 starters running at the checkers.
On the move: Matt Dooley of Fayetteville, Ga., started 13th and finished fifth.
