Key notes: The Coltman Farms Racing Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series rolls into Lancaster Motor Speedway for Saturday’s 40-lap, $5,000-to-win ninth annual Red Rose Rumble at Lancaster Motor Speedway. … Three-time and reigning series champ Ben Watkins of Rock Hill, S.C., enters with five straight Red Rose Rumble victories going back to 2021, four of them coming in Carolina Clash Series action until last year’s Southern Thunder Series-sanctioned $7,500-to-win eighth annual edition. Watkins has 11 major wins since July of 2020 at Lancaster. ... Russell Erwin of Beaverdam, Va., won last weekend’s $5,000 season opener at County Line Raceway in Elm City, N.C. … Michael Brown of Pageland, S.C., is a two-time Ultimate Southeast Series winner there, including last May’s $5,000 visit, but he has has been primarily competing in Crate Late Models as of late. … Jeff Smith of Dallas, N.C., grabbed a $12,000 Hunt the Front Series victory there in June of 2024 after Watkins slowed with mechanical woes while leading. … Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., won 2021’s Palmetto State Classic, worth $10,000. … Renegade sportsman, thunder bombers, outlaws and extreme 4s are on the undercard. … Pits open at 3 p.m. and grandstands open at 4:30 with hot laps at 6:15.
