What won the race: With Kyle Beard's postrace disqualification, publicized Saturday afternoon by the series, Hall of Famer Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., inherited Friday's $5,000 Cow Patty 50 victory on the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series at Old No. Speedway. Beard had outdueled B.J. Robinson on a lap-nine restart after early leader Scott Crigler retired and led the final 21 laps.
Key notes: A series release didn't reveal the reason for Kyle Beard's disqualification in postrace technical inspection; Beard's father Gary said his son told him the series declared the apparent winner's right-rear shock illegal. ... Billy Moyer notched his 15th career series victory. ... Scott Crigler retired after leading the opening eight laps from the pole, briefly giving control to B.J. Robinson, who led lap nine before settling for fourth; Crigler was credited with 22nd. ... Moyer grabbed second from Robinson on lap 12, but couldn't mount a serious challenge on Beard's advantage. ... Chandler Petty improved 11 spots to finish second. ... Terry Phillips, fresh off a $10,000 victory last weekend at Enid (Okla.) Speedway, gained five spots to finish sixth ... Second-starting Timothy Culp ended up 10th after pitting under a lap-four caution. ... J.C. Waller and Charlie Cole were eliminated in the lap-four incident. ... Friday's Cow Patty, a reschedule of June 7's rainout, lasted 22 minutes, with 14 starters completing 30 laps.
On the move: Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, started 21st and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Moyer’s Keith and Elia Lawson-owned Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from Karl Chevrolet Auto Group, Mesilla Valley Transportation, West Logging, Stevens Stone Supply, Just 4 Play Fabrication, Henderson Motorsports, 51Fifty Motorsports, Ultra Force Machines, Wehrs Machine, Hellraizer Jacks, Out-Pace, Sunoco Race Fuels, Penske Racing Shocks and Midwest Sheet Metal.
