Winner Nick Hoffman is flanked by runner-up Ethan Dotson (right) and third-finishing Dennis Erb Jr. (28).
What won the race: Winning the second straight night, Nick Hoffman of Mooresville, N.C., dominated World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series action at Norman County Speedway for the second straight season for a $15,000 victory. Hoffman, who also won Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., took the Norman County checkers 1.201 seconds ahead of Ethan Dotson for a 50-lap victory.
Quotable: "Tonight just everything went our way," Hoffman said. "I was able to go a quick time there and win my heat race and won again. Tonight it was a little bit easier (than the previous night at River Cities) as far as I didn't fall back and had to battle back."
Key notes: Hoffman notched his third WoO victory of the season and ninth of his career. ... Runner-up Ethan Dotson got his first top-five on the series since May 17; he took second from Tyler Bruening on the 28th lap. ... Home-state driver Jake Timm finished fifth, his best WoO finish in 39 starts. ... Drake Troutman, who started outside the front row, fell out of the top five before halfway and ended up 12th. ... Four cautions, all between laps 38-45, slowed the 50-lapper. ... Ashton Winger slowed on lap 38 (Tim McCreadie also headed to the infield with a flat right-rear tire). ... Four cars were involved in a lap-39 yellow in turn two: Tristan Chamberlain, Tim McCreadie, Blair Nothdurft and Amelia Eisenschenk. ... The third yellow appeared on the 42nd lap when series points leader Bobby Pierce lost the fourth spot with a flat right-rear tire. ... Three laps later, third-running Tyler Bruening had a flat tire; he held second the first 27 laps. ... In prelims, Bruening's 15.069-second qualifying lap lowered the track record. ... A brief rainstorm hit Norman County, delaying on-track activity by about an hour. ... WoO's scheduled four-race weekend concludes with another $15,000-to-win show at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D., the first series race there since 1989.
On the move: Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., started 11th and finished third.
