Michael Norris led all 30 laps to win the Willie and Conda McConnell Memorial.
What won the race: Overcoming multiple restarts, including one with two laps to go, second-starting Michael Norris of Sarver, Pa., led all 30 laps to win Friday's $4,500 Willie and Conda McConnell Memorial at Lernerville Speedway. Norris nabbed his ninth career Jay's Automotive United Late Model Series victory and his second of the season — his first since March 16's season opener at Pittsburgh's Pa. Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa.
Key notes: Norris won his seventh of the season at his hometown track, earned an additional $2,200 in lap money to boost his total winnings to $6,700. ... Two-time defending McConnell Memorial winner Gregg Satterlee slipped as low as fourth in the early going before trailing Norris the final 17 laps, taking the checkers 0.982 of a second back. ... Seventeenth-starting Levi Yetter grabbed third from Ken Schaltenbrand on the lap-29 restart and completed the podium finishers. Schaltenbrand settled for fourth. ... Mike Miller improved 10 spots and rounded out the top five. ... Series points leader Michael Lake was running sixth before appearing to cause the race's third caution on lap 16 and retiring. ... Alex Ferree worked his way as high as second just before the halfway mark before giving way to Satterlee and running third until pulling off on lap 25. ... Colton Flinner, who inherited third on lap 25, pulled off a lap later as part of the fifth yellow flag. ... The sixth and final stoppage came on lap 29, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. ... The feature lasted 29 minutes, with five drivers completing the distance. ... Jared Miley scratched after battling for the win in his heat race.
On the move: Levi Yetter of Cabot, Pa., started 17th and finished third; Jacob Dietz of Saxonburg, Pa., started 21st and finished seventh.
