Overton sped to the $5,000 unsanctioned Super Late Model triumph celebrating the track's 50th anniversary by 1.069 seconds over fourth-starting Donald McIntosh.
Key notes: McIntosh, of Dawsonville, Ga., took advantage of a lap-11 restart to take the runner-up spot and trailed Overton the final 15 circuits. ... Seventh-starting Cory Hedgecock followed McIntosh by Ricky Weiss on the lap-11 restart and completed the podium finishers. ... The third-starting Weiss, of Headingley, Manitoba, pursued Overton from lap 5-10 before settling for fourth. ... Ross Bailes started and finished fifth. ... Chris Ferguson advanced four spots, placing ninth. ... The second 25-lap prelim that lasted 11 minutes was also slowed by two yellow flags, with 14 drivers completing the distance. ... The top-eight finishers have earned starting positions in Saturday's 50-lap, $50,050-to-win finale and will occupy the outside starting position in their respective rows.
