Friday's second round was cancelled following sustained late-afternoon rain.
Key notes: After sustaining heavy rainfall just prior to hot laps, series and track officials cancelled Friday's $12,000-to-win second round. The Super Bowl of Racing will conclude with Saturday's $15,000-to-win finale. … Hudson O’Neal led all but one lap to win Thursday’s $10,000 season opener. … Ricky Thornton Jr. is fresh off a record-breaking season where he won 34 races, including 19 on the Lucas Oil tour, before losing the championship in the season-ending Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway. … The Big River Steel Chase for the Championship returns in 2024, but will begin following Sept. 19-21’s Knoxville Late Model Nationals and stretch over the final seven scheduled events; $200,000 will be awarded to the eventual season-long champion. … Brandon Overton won two of the three races last year at Golden Isles, including the $25,000 finale. … Devin Moran collected his first victory of the season in last Friday’s $12,000 Georgia-Florida Speedweeks opener at Volusia. … Watch each night live on FloRacing.
