The 11-year-old Malone collected the $2,000 payday in his first career Late Model start.
Quotable: “I watch Corey (Gordon) do this every time and he kept on winning, so I just took that in my mind and tried to bring this car to victory lane in one piece,” Malone said. “I want to thank Wesley Page and everybody that just came out here and supported me, just everybody. This is the best moment.”

Colton Dimsdale improved four positions and completed the top 10. ... After leading the first lap from the pole, Steven Thompkins spun from ninth on lap 18 to draw the race's fourth and final caution; Thompkins pulled off and called it a night. ... Carl Currin and Craig Overby tangled on the opening lap to bring out the first caution. ... Two-time Mid-East 602 winner Daniel Parker spun from 12th on the ensuing restart and was unable to continue. ... The third stoppage was for Justin Taylor's solo-spin on lap 10. ... Saturday's feature lasted 19 minutes, with 21 drivers completing 25 laps.
