What won the race: Fourth-starting Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis., took the lead on lap 15 and paced the final 16 laps at Hibbing Raceway on Sunday, winning the 44th annual Labor Day Shootout finale and $4,000.
Key notes: After winning the WISSOTA Challenge Series race at Hibbing on July 20, Travis Budisalovich of Minneapolis, Minn., led the first 14 laps before being overtaken by Doar and settling for runner-up position, 0.580 seconds back. ... Polesitter Derek Vesel failed to lead a lap and finished third at his home track. ... Dave Mass of East Bethel, Minn., moved into the top-five on lap 23 and finished fifth. ... After winning Friday's $3,000 WISSOTA feature at Grand Rapids (Minn.) Speedway, Jesse Glenz of Fall Creek, Wis., advanced five positions and finished ninth. ... Jeff Massingill of Keewatin, Minn., advanced 11 positions and finished 12th. ... After winning last year's $4,500 Labor Day finale, Jay Kintner finished 18th at his home track. ... Sunday's feature, the season finale for Hibbing Raceway, was slowed by three cautions and lasted 14 minutes, with 21 competitors completing all 30 laps.
