What won the race: Taking the lead on the third lap, second-starting Brody Troftgruben never looked back Friday in cruising to his third career Northern LateModel Racing Association victory at River Cities Speedway, collecting $1,200. Troftgruben notched his second NLRA victory of the season at his home track.
Key notes: Troftgruben is poised to gain points on NLRA points leader Mike Greseth of Harwood, N.D., who didn't compete Friday. ... Polesitter Joey Pederson of East Grand Forks, Minn., led the first two laps before giving way to Troftgruben and finishing 1.131 seconds back. ... Jason Strand of Portland, N.D., moved into the third position on lap 16 and finished there. ... After winning at River Cities on July 22, Brad Seng finished eighth at his home track. ... Twenty-eight time NLRA feature winner, Dustin Strand won at River Cities on June 26, but completed only nine laps and finished 17th at his home track. ... Friday's feature went green-to-checkered without caution and was completed in six minutes, with nine competitors completing all 25 laps. ... Friday's race was ran in conjunction with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars, as will Saturday's stop at Red River Valley Speedway, in West Fargo, N.D. ... The NLRA weekend tripleheader concludes with a third $1,200-to-win feature at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., on Sunday.
