Joseph Joiner (10) outran Josh Putnam (212) at Buckshot Speedway.
What won the race: Pole-starting Joseph Joiner of Milton, Fla., grabbed his series-leading third XR Southern All Star victory of the season Saturday with a repeat victory at Buckshot Speedway. Joiner, who also won the tour’s debut at the track on June 25, collected another $4,000 for outrunning fellow front-row starter and home-state driver Josh Putnam.
Quotable: “It’s cool to see new racetracks in our sport, and it’s even sweeter when you can be undefeated at them, and we’ve been able to win both of our appearances at Buckshot Speedway now,” Joiner said. “It was another flawless night, and this car was on point. I also want to give a shoutout to (teammate) Jesse (Enterkin). He raced to a 12th-place finish in his first-ever Super Late Model event. He really did a great job."
Key notes: Joiner scored his sixth career Southern All Star victory. ... The race was slowed by five cautions. ... A dozen drivers completed 40 laps. ... Consolation race winners Bo Slay and Cruz Skinner retired in the first 10 laps. ... The Southern All Stars this week announced the addition of a $5,000-to-win event Oct. 22 at Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway. .... Buckshot's event sponsors: Alabama Forklift and Repair, A&S Logging, Harrison Enterprises, FastLane Enterprises, Reynolds Timber and This & That Vinyl. ... Buckshot's final points race of the season is Sept. 10.
On the move: Dalton Cook of Smiths Station, Ala., started ninth and finished fifth.
