Carson Ferguson and Schaeffer Oil rep Ed Lowe in victory lane.
What won the race: Carson Ferguson of Lincolnton, N.C., outran Tyler Millwood and the bad luck that’s hampered him this Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Series for his first win with the tour Thursday at Senoia Raceway. The 22-year-old led all 40 laps from the pole, a performance worth $4,053, and topped Kingston, Ga.’s Millwood by 1.474 seconds.
Quotable: "I really have to thank (Tyler) Millwood for racing me clean there," Ferguson said. "I could hear him for the first half of that race. I felt like I was hitting my marks a little better and figuring out what to do. I was a little tight on the bottom. I really thank the good Lord for giving us a good day, keeping the rain away, keeping us all safe. Thanks to Schaeffer's Oil for putting on a good series."
Key notes: Will Roland of Jasper, Ga., finished third for his podium of the series. ... Senoia hosted the fifth round of action on the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals. ... . ... Senoia is hosting the series for the third time. ... The Ray Cook-directed series hit the midpoint with the remainder of the weekend Friday at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Saturday at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Ga., and Sunday at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway. ... Watch all series events at FloRacing.
On the move: Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga., started 18th and finished seventh.
