Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb., had a rare off night in an otherwise dominant season, starting 22nd and finishing 12th. ... Polesitter Mike Collins of McClelland, Iowa, called it a night early. ... The weekend marked the Nebraska-based Super Late Model Racing tour's first trip to Lakeside. ... Friday and Saturday SLMRS features paid $2,000-to-win and $250-to-start, a boost over typical series purses. ... Malvern Saving & Trust and Neff Towing added sponsorship to boost the weekend's purse. ... Lakeside's action coincided with NASCAR racing at nearby Kansas Speedway.
On the move: Travis Birkley of Wakefield, Neb., was the race's hard charger, improving from 20th to finish seventh.
