What won the race: Taking the lead on the 11th lap when Rusty Schlenk tangled with a slower car, polesitter Cody Bauer of Farwell, Mich., raced to his richest career payday with a $10,000 victory Sunday at Merritt Speedway on the Allstar Performance Challenge Series. Bauer took the lead upon the demise of his front-row starter and led the rest of the 50-lapper, fighting off challenges from Eric Spangler and Dona Marcoullier.
Key notes: Bauer drove a Domination Race Car, the brand built by Schlenk, who led the feature over Bauer until retiring on lap 11. ... Chad Finley, who won Saturday's preliminary feature, finished sixth in Sunday's finale. ... Nine drivers completed the entire feature distance. ... Merritt hosted the second race of the season on the Allstar Performance Challenge Series following Friday’s series rainout at Tri-City in Auburn, Mich. ...
