After Saturday's rainout at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., Volunteer Speedway was slated to host the second round of the Ray Cook-promoted tour. ... The series kicked off its 17th season Friday at Beckley (W.Va.) Motorsports Park where Josh Rice of Verona, Ky., scored a $10,053 victory, his first-ever with the Ray Cook-promoted tour. … Volunteer was set to host the series for the 10th time. ... Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., won last year’s visit, which was the first since 2013. … Madden, Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., and Tommy Kerr of Maryville, Tenn., have two series wins each at Volunteer. … Sportsman, street stocks, classics and front-wheel drives were on the undercard.
