Christian Thomas won March 27’s FUEL opener at Fayetteville.
What won the race: Leading flag-to-flag, fast qualifier and polesitter Christian Thomas of Wake Forest, N.C., cruised to the $3,000 Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series victory in the opener on Saturday night at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. He finished 0.653 seconds ahead of runner-up Shaun Harrell to claim his fourth series win.
Key notes: Thomas recorded his second win of the weekend after capturing $1,500 Friday at Fayetteville. ... Three of his four career FUEL series wins have come at 4/10-mile oval. ... The Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series kicked off its eighth season on Saturday at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. ... Dean Bowen, Joe Radford and Matthew Bissette didn’t start the feature.
