Jimmy Owens capped his season with a $5,000 Thanksgiving weekend victory at 411.
What won the race: Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., took the lead from Cory Hedgecock on lap 17 and never looked back in dominating the caution-free 50-lap Iron-Man Series event at 411. Owens crossed the finish line 6.916 seconds ahead of runner-up Hedgecock for a $5,000 victory.
Quotable: “The car was just super good tonight. I was afraid we wouldn’t be able to get around Cory once he got the lead,” said Owens. “We made some adjustments and stuff and the car was flawless all night.”
