What won the race: Jason Welshan of Maryville, Tenn., earned a $2,000 United Championship Racing Alliance victory Saturday in the tour's debut at Talladega Short Track.
Key notes: Welshan's previous UCRA victory came last September at Blue Ridge (Ga.) Motorsports Park. ... Welshan debuted a brand new Savage Chassis on Friday at Fort Payne (Ala.)
