Key notes: Sunday's event was cancelled because of a wet forecast, allowing race teams a chance to head home or to other events, series officials announced early in the afternoon. ... The event started on Saturday evening but unusual circumstances — an area-wide power outage reportedly caused by a tree falling on power lines that knocked out all electricity to the track at 8 p.m. as the third heat was starting — forced track and series officials to postpone to Sunday. ... The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series was trying to wrap up a two-day stop at Sharon Speedway with the 75-lap, $15,000-to-win Battle at the Border finale. ... Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., won Friday night's 25-lap opener. ... The 75-lapper marks WoO’s ninth visit to Sharon. The Friday night show was the first WoO race there since 2010.
Who to watch: Darrell Lanigan is Union, Ky., the 2010 WoO winner at Sharon, looks for his first series win of 2019.
