Sam Seawright earned $2,500 for Saturday's UCRA win at his home track.
What won the race: Inheriting the lead when race-long pacesetter Jimmy Elliot pitted with a flat right rear tire on lap 32, Sam Seawright led the final eight circuits to win Saturday United Championship Racing Alliance feature at Fort Payne Motor Speedway. Seawright, of nearby Rainsville, Ala., finished ahead of Booger Brooks and fellow teenager Cody Courtney for a $2,500 triumph.
Key notes: Apparent runner-up Booger Brooks was disqualified during post-race inspection for violating the series fuel policy. … Hot Rod Carroll slowed with an overheating engine on lap 15 to draw a caution. … J.T. Seawright, the race winner’s older brother, was battling for the lead when the bolts came out of his his steering wheel. He spun to a stop on a lap-15 restart, relegated to a 12th-place finish. … Kyle May was among drivers having a rough night. May backed his No. 55 into the wall, severely damaging the rearend of his No. 55 when he was collected in a wreck on a lap-32 restart. … Fort Payne Motor Speedway hosted the United Championship Racing Alliance for the third time this season. … With two wins, Michael Courtney of Knoxville, Tenn., remains the tour’s only repeat winner in seven races this season.
