Nate Beyenhof celebrates his last-lap victory at his home track.
What won the race: Overtaking Jordan Heiman on the last of several late-race restarts, series points leader and hometown driver Nate Beyenhof led only the final lap Tuesday at Rapid Speedway for his second Tri-State Series victory of the season. The sixth-starting Beyenhof earned $1,000 in outrunning the third-starting Heiman, who was looking for his first victory of the season.
Key notes: Beyenhof has a series-high six career victories. ... The 20-lap feature wrapped up about 9:45 p.m. ... The race was slowed by four late-race cautions on laps 15, 16, 18 and 19. ... Blair Nothdurft raced from 12th to third but retired after 16 laps. ... Rapid Speedway hosted the 4-year-old series for the eighth time. ... The race was held during the Lyon County Fair with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series also on the card. ... Gale Vogt scratched from his heat race and didn't run the feature.
On the move: John Hoefert of Sioux Falls, S.D., started 10th and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Beyenhof’s MB Customs entry carries sponsorship from Town & Country Disposal, Spykerboer Custom Baling, Beyenhof Estates, Four Seasons Companies, Fastert Trucking, McCarty Seed, Ritter and Loger Farms.
