What won the race: Charging from seventh, Charlie Sandercock of Belleville, Ontario, passed race-long leader John Waters on the outside as they raced through turn on lap 17 and went on to win his second straight RUSH Dirt Late Model Series feature. Sandercock finished 2.054 seconds in front of runner-up Kyle Sopaz in winning $4,000.
Quotable: "It was a super racey track," said Sandercock. "We did not start off the night the best, but my crew gave me a good car at the end of the night.”
Key notes: Sandercock has three career RUSH Dirt Late Model Series wins. … He survived three late-race restarts for the win in the first-ever Late Model appearance at Le RPM. … Sandercock swept the weekend’s Quebec Invasion as he also won Friday at Autodrome Granby for an $8,000 weekend. The Canadian driver also won the tour’s last trip to his native country, when he won in 2017 at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario. … Thirteen of the 17 starters completed all 40 laps. … Michael Goudie spun on lap 15 to bring out the first caution. … Waters brought out the second caution in lap 19 after breaking a lower control arm bolt. … Sandercock held a straightaway lead when Craig Graham's spin on lap 28 brought out the third caution. … The final caution waved on lap 37 for another spin by Goudie. … Rearend problems sidelined Brian Knowles. … Kyle Sopaz and Phil Potts recorded podium finishes in both weekend events, with the two swapping the second and third spots at Granby and Le RPM. … John Waters set a new track record (14.385 seconds) during qualifying.
On the move: Chad Homan of Macedon, N.Y., advanced nine positions to finish fifth.
