What won the race: Third-starting Charlie Sandercock of Belleville, Ontario, wrestled away the lead from Michael Duritsky late in the race to capture his second career RUSH Dirt Late Model Series victory in Friday’s Quebec Invasion at Autodrome Granby. He earned $4,000.
Quotable: "The restart was our friend. We had to make sure we capitalized on that," Sandercock said. "The track was superfast. Hats off to the guys that prepped the track — it was really good, and my crew gave me a wicked fast car."
Key notes: Sandercock slipped back to fifth early but tracked down the leader on lap 35 and went on to build a 1.963 second margin in the remaining five laps. … Polesitter Braeden Dillinger retired on lap 36. … A dozen drivers completed 40 laps. … The RUSH Dirt Late Model Series made its inaugural visit to French-speaking Quebec’s Autodrome Granby and its first trip to Canada since 2017 when Sandercock won at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario. … It was the first night of the weekend doubleheader in Quebec.
