Cade Dillard takes the checkered flag for his fifth Louisiana win of the season.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., earned his fifth Louisiana Late Model Series victory Friday at Chatham Speedway, earning $2,000 in the Scary 30. Dillard took the checkers in the tuneup event for Saturday's $9,000-to-win Spooky 50 at Chatham.
Quotable: “Probably about seven or eight laps in my car started coming to,” winner Cade Dillard said. “I knew the top wouldn’t be there too long so I knew I had to make a move while I could before (they) starting guarding the bottom. I think Robbie (Stuart) spun the tires or something there (on the restart) and that was probably my only shot to get by. He had a good car. Luckily was were able to get the lead.”
Key notes: Four of Dillard's five Louisiana Late Model Series events have come at Chatham. ... He can earn a $1,000 bonus if he can win Saturday's main event.
Winner's sponsors: Dillard drives an MB Customs Race Car with sponsorship from S&S Fishing and Rental, Nichols Home Decor, Joel’s Auto Sales, Fox Racing Shox, Jody’s Oilfield Service, Moran Trucking, Performance Graphic, Production Jars, RacerWebsite.com, Scotty Carline Electric, The Comeauxs, Turner Kutrite Services and Wehrs Machine.
