Ricky Weeks picked up his 11th Blue Ridge victory of the season.
What won the race: Rallying from the tail after his car lost power at the start, Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton, N.C., overtook race-long leader Dustin Mitchell with two laps to go at Carolina Speedway and captured his 11th Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model Series victory of the season.
Quotable: "The car just kept getting better and better the longer I ran it, and I kept building up some more confidence in it," said winner Ricky Weeks. "I knew I had one shot to win it, and that was to pass him on the outside. It was one of them hero or zero moves and it just happened to stick, so we got lucky."
Key notes: Weeks started on the pole after winning the dash, but his cost lost power on the initial start and he had to restart on the tail of the 21-car field. ... Weeks turned 59 years old the week before the event. ... Runner-up Dustin Mitchell led all but two laps and fought carburetion problems. ... "The old man's still got it," Mitchell said of the Weeks victory. ... The race was a makeup of an Aug. 31 rainout.
Winner's sponsors: Weeks drives a Longhorn Chassis sponsored by Parton Lumber, AFCO, American Race Tires, Renegade Fuels and Phyllis Ikey.
