Boom Briggs won the opener of the season-ending Eriez weekend.
What won the race: Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, Pa., led all 35 laps Saturday to capture the $4,011 Bob Rohrer's September Sweep at Eriez Speedway. Briggs took the checkers over Greg Oakes and Max Blair.
Key notes: Briggs, who also won Sept. 2's Ultimate Northeast event at Eriez, won the first of two weekend Super Late Model features (the entire weekend was pushed back 24 hours by rain). ... Dan Angelicchio spun on the third lap. ... Alex Ferree led early after a battle with Doug Eck. ... Dave Hess Jr. and Doug Eck had a contact-filled battle mid-race and Eck was sent to the pit after showing his displeasure with Hess. ... Greg Oakes rose late to grab second. ... Sunday's race pays $6,011-to-win.
On the move: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., started 17th and finished third.
