What won the race: Polesitter Brian Rickman of Columbus, Miss., notched his second Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series victory of the season Saturday at Greenville Speedway. Rickman earned $2,500 in taking the checkers ahead of his brother, Rick Rickman.
Key notes: Brian Rickman has eight career MSCCS victories. ... His previoius victory this season came at Tri-County Speedway in Pollard, Ala. ... Greenville hosts the Oct. 5-6 season finale weekend on the series in the Gumbo Nationals. ... The track announced that the Gumbo Nationals, instead of its traditional $10,000 payday over two days, would be split into two complete programs with $4,000-to-win and $8,000-to-win purses.
