What won the race: Outside front-row starter and hometown driver Kyle Peterlin scored his first career Wollak Construction WISSOTA Challenge Series victory in Saturday's Labor Day Shootout opener. Peterlin earned $3,000 in taking the checkers over sixth-starting Marshall Fegers.
Key notes: Peterlin notched his richest victory since his $4,000 triumph in ABC Raceway's Red Clay Classic in Ashland, Wis., on Oct. 2, 2010. ... Twenty-three of 28 drivers were running at the finish.
On the move: Steve Laursen of Cumberland, Wis., started 10th and finished fifth; Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis., started 17th and finished eighth.
