What won the race: Polesitter Cole Schill of Horace, N.D., outran fellow front-row starter Don Shaw on Saturday at Viking Speedway for his first Northern LateModel Racing Association victory since 2016. Schill's third career NLRA victory came in the first race of the weekend doubleheader at Viking.
Key notes: Cole Schill's previous NLRA victory came June 24, 2016, at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. ... Don Shaw led early before Schill took command. ... A red flag appeared when Brad Seng's car launched off turn one; no injuries were reported. ... Twenty-one starters were running at the finish. ... Saturday's marked the tour’s 42nd visit, the most of any track in the series history. ... Dustin Bluhm won the night's Limited Late Model feature.
On the move: Shane Edginton of Winnipeg, Manitoba, started 11th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Schill's MasterSbilt Race Car is sponsored by Rivinius Ranch, R&H Landscape Supply, Gateway Heartland Chevy Dealers, Mid Ag Dispatch, Metz Company, Halo Commodities and CMD.
