What won the race: Winning his second NLRA feature in as many starts, sprint car standout Donny Schatz of Fargo, N.D., topped Joey Pederson for a $1,200 victory at River Cities Speedway on Friday. The second-starting Schatz, who also won the World of Outlaws sprint car main event, beat the fifth-starting Pederson by 2.847 seconds, while Mike Balcaen finished third.
Key notes: Donny Schatz picked up his seventh career NLRA victory and second of the season; he won Aug. 5 at Nodak Speedway in Minot, N.D. … Eleven of the 21 starters completed 25 laps. … Series points leader and hometown driver Dustin Strand, who won Thursday at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Don Platow of Shevlin, Minn., scratched from the main event. … NLRA's event was the second of a four-race weekend that includes Thursday’s opener at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg (won by Dustin Strand); the stretch continues Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., on Saturday and Sheyenne River Speedway in Lisbon, N.D., on Sunday.
