Russ King heads to a ULMS victory at Thunder Mountain Friday.
What won the race: Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio, passed Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, Pa., in the waning laps to win Friday’s 30-lap ULMS-sanctioned Eric Witherite Memorial at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Ferree finished second ahead of Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa. King earned $3,000 for the win.
Key notes: King held off Ferree after a caution with three laps remaining slowed the action. ... Sixteen cars finished the race, all on the lead lap. ... It was the fourth career ULMS victory for King. ... King finished 1.371 seconds ahead of Ferree. ... This was the first of a weekend doubleheader for the ULMS tour.
