Hudson O'Neal scored a $3,000 Iron-Man victory at Ponderosa.
What won the race: Overtaking outside polesitter Tripp Gerrald of Lexington, Ky., on lap 15 of 30, sixth-starting Hudson O'Neal of Martinsville, Ind., led the rest of the way to score a $3,000 Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Series victory in Ponderosa Speedway's 20th annual Pete Abell Memorial.
Key notes: O’Neal notched his second straight victory; he was the winner of the July 29 Paul Crockett Memorial at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway. … The 16-year-old O’Neal became the youngest winner in Iron-Man series history. … In nine events, the Iron-Man tour has had nine different winners. ...
