What won the race: Winning his first Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Series event, Chris Combs of Isom, Ky., picked up a $3,088 Big Daddy Classic winner's check at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Ky.
Key notes: The race honored long-time Ponderosa competitor Paul ‘Big Daddy’ Feistritzer, who drove his familiar No. 88 to several victories at the track. Feistritzer passed away after losing his battle with cancer. ... Combs is the tour's sixth winner in as many events this season. ... Victor Lee piloted a Chad Stapleton-owned No. 32 entry. ... Saturday's 14 entrants marked a season-low total for the tour. ... The race was rescheduled from May 12. ... Two more Iron-Man stops at Ponderosa are slated for Aug. 4 and Sept. 15.
Winner's sponsors: Combs' Swartz Chassis is sponsored by Combs Brothers Racing, Tim Short Automotive and Mountain Truck Parts.
Points chase: Carder Miller led the standings prior to Saturday's event, but he did not enter at Ponderosa.
Car count: 14
Heat race winners: Victor Lee, Chris Combs
Next series race: July 1, Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, TN) $5,000
